Privacy Policy

Unfold collects very little, and only what it needs to run your game. This page explains exactly what that is.

01 Introduction

This policy covers Unfold: Just Unmarkable Poker (“Unfold”, “the app”, “we”, “us”), an Android app for live poker games played with friends. It explains what information the app processes, why, and what choices you have.

We respect your privacy. Unfold is designed to collect as little as possible, and nothing beyond what's needed to run a game. By using the app you agree to the practices described here.

02 Data we collect

When you create or join a game, the app processes the following:

Data What it is Why we need it
Player ID A random identifier generated by the app. It isn't linked to your real identity. Recognises you as the same player across a game session.
Player name The display name you enter. It can be a nickname. Shows the other players at your table who you are.
Game ID The unique code for a table. Lets players create and join the right game.
In-game actions & statistics Your moves (check, call, raise, fold), chip counts, hands and results. Runs the game, keeps every player in sync, and shows game stats.

Your player name is visible to everyone at your table. Please don't use your full real name or any other sensitive information as your display name.

03 What we don't collect

Unfold does not ask for or collect:

  • Your email address, phone number or password (there is no account to create)
  • Your location
  • Your contacts, photos, files, camera or microphone
  • Payment or financial information
  • Advertising identifiers. Unfold shows no ads.

The app needs internet access to connect to the game server, and that is its only purpose.

04 How we use data

We use the data described above only to:

  • Run gameplay: deal cards, process actions, track chips and decide the winner of each hand.
  • Manage game sessions: create tables, handle players joining and leaving, and keep every device in sync.
  • Improve the app: find bugs and fix stability problems during the beta.

We don't use your data for advertising or profiling, and we don't use it for any purpose unrelated to the app.

05 Storage & security

Game data is sent between the app and our servers over secure, encrypted WebSocket connections (TLS) and is stored on our servers.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, destruction or damage. Even so, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

06 Retention & deletion

We keep game data only as long as it's needed to run your games and show your statistics. After that, we delete it or anonymise it.

To have your data deleted, email us at support@offsuitlabs.com with the subject “Data deletion request”. Include your player name and, if you can, the game IDs you played in. We'll confirm the request and delete your data within 30 days.

07 Sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We share it only:

  • With the other players at your table, who see your player name and in-game actions as part of normal play
  • With infrastructure providers (such as server hosting) that we need to run the service, and only to the extent necessary
  • When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or others

08 Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EU/UK), you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Have inaccurate data corrected
  • Have your data deleted
  • Object to or restrict how we process your data
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Complain to your local data protection authority

To exercise any of these rights, contact us. We'll reply within 30 days.

09 Children

Unfold is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has used the app, contact us and we'll delete their data.

10 No real money

Unfold is for social play only. It doesn't offer real-money gambling, take payments, or give out prizes of any kind. The chips in the app have no monetary value.

11 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Unfold changes, especially during the beta. When we do, we'll post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you in the app or in the release notes.
